Research published by the Department of Energy & Climate Change entitled, ‘An investigation of the effect of EPC ratings on house prices’, has found that a ‘B-rated’ house in the North East can achieve an additional £19,000, when compared to a similar ‘D-rated’ house. When upgrading the EPC rating from a ‘G’ to an ‘E’ rating property prices in the North East can increase by over £25,000 according to DECC.
